In the olden days, the king or other person in power told people what to make. If he wanted horseshoes they made horseshoes. If they wanted beets the farmers grew beets capitalism changed all of that is made it so that the people chose what they wanted making the people that make things be influenced by what the consumers buy. The rich people took advantage of what people wanted to be made the products cheaply and sold them at a higher price making what we call a profit but when the government interferes you don't get capitalism you get something else.
Puss the cat
Today I read a story about a cat named Puss. One day, Puss had kittens. They were born in the cellar, but then Puss took the kittens up to the attic. But the servant thought that they should be in the cellar. So she took them back to the cellar. But Puss took them back to the attic! This happened a dozen times. Puss left the kittens and came back with an unfamiliar cat that they had never seen. This cat took them into the attic and went away. Then the servant girl left them alone. This story should teach children to help one another all the time. (Typed by mommy.)
