The Reconstruction was a very tumultuous time in the history of America. it happened directly after the Civil War it got started during the war by President Abraham Lincoln and he even had an amazing setup planned for the reconstruction. Sadly it never happened because of his untimely death at the hands of John Wilkes Booth. His predecessor Andrew Johnson followed the plans of Reconstruction that Abraham Lincoln had planned out. The steps that Andrew Jhonson took were very lenient in terms of dealing with the south he thought that he could just bring them back into the union and free all the slaves. Yet there were people in the senate called the radical republicans that hated how lenient he was and tried passing several bills that allowed them control of the southern land even going so far as to put generals in charge of the southern states but instead of them as states they would be five districts all run by separate generals.
Puss the cat
Today I read a story about a cat named Puss. One day, Puss had kittens. They were born in the cellar, but then Puss took the kittens up to the attic. But the servant thought that they should be in the cellar. So she took them back to the cellar. But Puss took them back to the attic! This happened a dozen times. Puss left the kittens and came back with an unfamiliar cat that they had never seen. This cat took them into the attic and went away. Then the servant girl left them alone. This story should teach children to help one another all the time. (Typed by mommy.)
